Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 12 October 2025
Applies to: eqmprojects.com.au and related online services

Our commitment

EQM Projects is committed to providing a website that is usable and accessible for everyone, including people with disability. Our goal is to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance and to continually improve accessibility as our content and services evolve.

What we are doing

We design, build and review our website with:

  • Semantic structure – clear headings, lists and landmarks for screen readers.

  • Text alternatives – meaningful alt text for images and icons.

  • Keyboard accessibility – all interactive elements can be reached and used by keyboard.

  • Visible focus – clear focus indicators for links and controls.

  • Colour & contrast – minimum contrast ratios aligned to WCAG 2.2 AA.

  • Forms – labels, instructions, error messages and success confirmations.

  • Resizable text – text remains readable and functional when zoomed to 200%.

  • Motion & animation – respects user preferences (reduced motion) where applicable.

  • Consistent navigation – predictable layouts and link behaviour.

How we test

We use a mix of manual and automated checks, including:

  • Keyboard‑only navigation and screen reader spot checks (e.g., NVDA).

  • Automated audits (e.g., WAVE, Lighthouse) to detect common issues.

  • Browser and device checks (current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari; iOS/Android).

Standards and legislation

Our approach is informed by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and the principles of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) and related Australian guidance.

Continuous improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We review this statement at least annually and whenever we introduce significant new features or content.
